How to remove pollen without rubbing

Pollen can coat the fur like a fine yellow layer. Handle it like this:

Step 1: air out and shake

Take it outside (if the weather allows) and give it gentle shakes. This removes much of the pollen.

Step 2: soft brush or lint roller

Use a very soft brush or a sticky lint roller with short strokes in the direction of the hair. Avoid very strong adhesive rollers on delicate areas (nose/eyes).

Step 3: gentle vacuuming

If you have a vacuum with a brush nozzle, use the lowest power and keep a distance (at least 2–3 cm). It’s helpful in parks with heavy pollen.

Cleaning mud and fresh stains

Fresh mud is easiest to remove before it dries. If it’s already dry, moisten and proceed carefully.

Wet stain (just after the walk)

1. Gently remove excess with a spoon or a rigid card.
2. Dampen a clean cloth with cold water and wring it out (don’t soak).
3. Press from the outside toward the center to lift the dirt into the cloth.
4. Let air dry, avoiding direct heat.

Dry stain

Mist the area with a spray bottle of water to soften the mud and follow the steps above. If the inner fabric (filling) shows moisture, consider a deeper cleaning or contact us.

Clothes & accessories: safe washing

Most interchangeable garments can be cleaned gently. Always follow the care label, but as a general rule:

  Small seams can be reinforced with stitches if you notice wear after the walk.

If you’re unsure about a garment, keep it in a bag and clean it later to avoid transferring pollen to the plush.

Common mistakes to avoid

Not every home remedy works on delicate plush. Avoid:

• Scrubbing hard with stiff brushes: they wear down the fibers.
• Using bleach, alcohol, or strong cleaners that can fade or stiffen the fur.
• Putting it in direct sun to dry quickly: this can yellow or warp.
• Drying with high heat (powerful hairdryers) near glued areas or accessories.

5-step post-walk routine

1. Remove interchangeable clothes and air Puffy for 10–20 minutes.
2. Shake and use a lint roller or soft brush in the direction of the fur.
3. Treat wet stains with a cloth and water; for dry ones, mist and repeat.
4. Place dirty clothes in a zip bag and wash according to the label.
