Travel with your Puffy — keep it safe and snug
Bringing Puffy along adds extra sweetness to any getaway. Here’s a practical plan — what to pack, how to protect them depending on the destination, and what to do if they get wet or dirty — so they come back just as lovely as when they left home.
Before the getaway: why plan
A little foresight avoids surprises: protection from bumps, moisture, stains and odors. Caring for the little details is part of the romantic trip — at Casa Puffy we believe in the small gestures that make a memory last.
How to pack Puffy, step by step
-
1Padded travel bag: use a fabric cover or a padded bag to cushion bumps. Avoid long plastic covers that trap moisture.
-
2Clothes around them: surround Puffy with garments (tees, sweaters) in the suitcase: they act as padding and save space.
-
3Waterproof bag for wet clothes: if you bring damp items on the trip, keep them in a sealed bag so they don’t stain the little bear.
-
4Puffy travel kit: microfiber tissues, a small mild soap, tweezers, alcohol-free wipes and a small sachet of silica or rice to absorb moisture.
-
5Extra outfits kept flat: store Puffy’s outfits in a flat bag so they arrive unwrinkled and you can change them without touching everything else.
Transport: plane, car & train
Plane
If you fly, it’s comfiest to keep Puffy in the cabin. Place them in a soft bag or a padded cover under the seat. Avoid checking them in to prevent crushing or loss.
Car
In the car, put Puffy in a safe spot: the back seat on a blanket or between luggage so they don’t get knocked around. Avoid the trunk on long trips with temperature changes.
Train & public transport
On trains, keep Puffy in their bag or on your shoulder to avoid stains. If you sit by the window, don’t press them directly against it in strong sun.
Beach, pool & sand: extra protection
Key rule: salt water and sand can make a lovely photo… and a little trouble. If you want to take Puffy to the beach, do it with care.
-
1Bring a lightweight waterproof cover and a bag for sand. Keep Puffy inside the cover when not using them.
-
2Avoid placing them directly on towels with fresh sunscreen: sunscreen stains are hard to remove away from home.
-
3If they get covered in sand: shake gently outside the cover, use a soft-bristle brush and air them out. Don’t scrub hard.
Rain and humid climates: prevention
Moisture is the quiet enemy: it can clump the stuffing and leave odors. Prevention is simple and effective.
- Keep Puffy in a breathable bag with a small silica sachet if you expect humidity.
- If they get wet, press with an absorbent towel to remove excess water — don’t wring — and let air dry in a ventilated spot.
- Avoid high-heat dryers; direct heat can deform or damage seams and details.
Quick cleaning and drying while traveling
Small stains can be fixed without a washing machine. These steps work in a hotel, a cottage or a van.
-
1Fresh stains: blot excess with a napkin; then clean with a cloth dampened in lukewarm water and a drop of mild soap. Test first on a hidden spot.
-
2Odors: air in gentle sun (not for too long) or place a sachet of baking soda nearby inside a cover for a few hours.
-
3Quick dry: press with absorbent towels and hang to dry on a hanger in a ventilated bathroom or room. Use a cool setting on a hairdryer from a distance if there’s no other option.
Where Puffy sleeps at your destination
If Puffy sleeps in the bed with you, think about comfort: a thin cover or an extra cushion for them prevents contact with products or cosmetics.
If there are allergies or you want to keep the hotel hygienic, put Puffy in a clean cover overnight. It’s a simple gesture that protects both of you and leaves everything ready for the morning photo.

Explore PuffysFrequently asked questions
Can I take Puffy in the plane cabin as carry-on?
Yes, usually you can. It’s best to carry them in a soft bag that fits cabin dimensions and place it under the seat. Avoid checking them in to reduce the risk of crushing or loss.
What if Puffy gets wet at the beach or pool?
Press with an absorbent towel to remove excess water, gently shake out sand, clean with a damp cloth and mild soap if needed, and let air dry in a ventilated spot. Don’t use intense direct heat.
Can I use wet wipes to clean stains?
Use alcohol-free wipes and test first on an inconspicuous area. For stubborn stains, lukewarm water with mild soap and gentle drying is better.
How to avoid odors after a long trip?
Air Puffy for a few hours in a dry, sunny spot (not in strong sun for too long). If the smell persists, place a sachet of baking soda nearby inside a closed cover for a few hours.
